I am a political scientist and Associate Professor of International Business at the University of Oxford, Saïd Business School and Research Fellow at Green Templeton College. I specialize in comparative politics and the political economy of development, with a regional focus on South Asia.  My research spans several topics, including state capacity, governance, education, security, frontline public services and social welfare. Prior to Oxford, I taught on the Harvard Business School faculty, in the Business, Government and International Economy Unit.
